Our Story
Vivi and Hung jumping in front of Mt. Fuji

Vivi and Hung first crossed paths in their early years at San Jose State University. Like many college connections, it started simply - they added each other on social media, but life moved quickly and their paths didn't quite align just yet.

Fast forward to summer 2018, life intervened. 🙂

While Vivi was busy with her summer internship, she attended a corporate held event where, by pure coincidence, Hung was working a part-time photo booth job there. Of all places, it was at work! You really do meet the best people at work if you're lucky. 🤭 (PS: You know who you are!) Anyway, that random college connection didn't feel so random anymore. Who knew a part-time job and an internship would end up being the beginning of their story?

From that moment on, they reconnected and quickly became close. After a semester filled with conversations, laughter, and getting to know each other in a whole new way, they made it official in January 2019!

Over the next 6 years, Vivi and Hung navigated life side by side - figuring out careers, adulthood, and everything in between. They moved in together, starting in Fremont and eventually in Campbell, creating a home and learning the important things... like who does what chores.

Along the way, they introduced each other to new experiences. Vivi got Hung into snowboarding, while Hung introduced Vivi to the sacred tradition of weekly fried chicken dates. Vivi also spent years trying to get Hung into boba... but he still prefers not to drink it. You win some, you lose some.

In November 2025, Hung took things to the next level and proposed in front of Mt. Fuji. Vivi said yes obviously.

And the rest is... still being written 🙂

Wedding FAQ
Logistics
What time does the wedding start?
Please arrive by 3:30 PM - the ceremony begins promptly at 4:00 PM. We don't want anyone to miss a moment!
Is there parking available?
Yes! Parking at The Anam Cam Ranh is complimentary for all registered guests. The resort offers both self-parking and valet services.
Will transportation be provided?
Transportation is not provided. We recommend coordinating with your hotel or arranging a private transfer. See the Travel tab for airport and arrival tips.
Where will wedding updates be posted?
Right here! This website is updated regularly as we get closer to the big day - be sure to check back for the latest information.
Getting There
What is the best airport to fly into?
The closest airport is Cam Ranh International Airport (CXR), located just 15-20 minutes from the resort by car. It offers direct domestic flights from Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and Da Nang, as well as international connections from Seoul, Bangkok, Singapore, and more.
Do I need a visa to visit Vietnam?
Yes, USA passport holders need an e-visa to enter Vietnam. Many other nationalities can enter Vietnam visa-free for a limited period, but requirements vary by country. We recommend checking your government's official travel site well in advance to confirm what is needed for your passport.
What currency should I bring?
The local currency is the Vietnamese dong (VND). USD is widely accepted in tourist areas, but having some local cash on hand is handy for smaller purchases and tips.
Where should I stay?
We have reserved a room block at The Anam Cam Ranh - mention our wedding when booking for a discount! Other nearby options include:
  • JW Marriott Cam Ranh Bay Resort & Spa (0.5 mi): private beaches, pools, premium spa.
  • Alma Resort Cam Ranh: sprawling pool complex, multiple dining options, on-site water park.
  • Fusion Resort Cam Ranh: hilltop villas, all-inclusive spa, uninterrupted ocean views.
  • The View Hotel (1.3 mi): highly rated, budget-friendly, great Wi-Fi, nearby snorkeling.
  • Cong Thanh Long Beach Hotel (0.5 mi): comfortable rooms, on-site restaurant.
  • Florihome Long Beach (0.9 mi): quiet, convenient coastal stay.
Weather & Comfort
What is the weather expected to be like?
Warm, sunny, and tropical! Expect temperatures around 85-88 degrees F (29-31 degrees C) with humidity. Pack light, breathable fabrics and plan to embrace the heat - you're in paradise, after all!
Will there be air conditioning?
Since the ceremony and reception are outdoors, there won't be traditional AC. This is exactly why we encourage lightweight fabrics, comfortable footwear, and a carefree attitude. We'll have fans and plenty of cold drinks to keep everyone cool and comfortable throughout the evening!
Dress Code
What is the dress code?
Tropical Formal - and we mean it! This is a destination wedding in Vietnam, and we want everyone dressed to match the occasion.
For guests wearing dresses
Midi or maxi-length dresses are required - please no short or mini-length dresses. We're celebrating outdoors in a lush resort setting, and longer hemlines are both elegant and practical. Lean into bright colors, bold prints, and florals - the more festive, the better! Please avoid white, ivory, cream, or any shade that could be mistaken for bridal.
For our male guests
Tuxedos are not required, and honestly, you will thank us. A linen, cotton, or seersucker suit is ideal. Light or fun colors such as sky blue, sage, coral, tan, and tropical prints are warmly encouraged. Think resort formal, not black tie.
For everyone
Vietnam will be warm and humid, so please choose lightweight, breathable fabrics. Your comfort matters - we want you dancing all night, not wilting!
Tropical formal dress inspiration examples with colorful floral midi and maxi dresses
Examples for color, print, and formality - not a limit
Dress inspiration examples are welcome here, but they are not limiting. Use them as a guide for color, print, and formality, then make the look your own.
Is there a theme?
Yes! Our theme is Garden in Bloom. Incorporate fun colors and groovy prints! You'll fit right in.
Footwear
What should I wear on my feet?
The ceremony and reception are outdoors, so we recommend block heels, wedges, or dressy flat sandals. Stilettos are not ideal on grass or uneven surfaces. Comfortable and chic is the move!
Food & Drinks
What is on the menu?
An international buffet! And since you're in Asia, expect some truly delicious local food - come hungry.
What if I have dietary restrictions?
Please note any dietary restrictions in your RSVP and we'll do our best to accommodate you.
Will there be an open bar?
Absolutely. Keep the drinks and the good vibes flowing!
Guest List & RSVPs
Can I bring a plus-one?
We are not accommodating plus-ones. Our guest list is intentionally intimate, and every person invited is someone we deeply love and wanted there by name. Your invitation will clearly list who is included in your party.
Are children invited?
We love the little ones in our lives, but we are keeping our wedding celebration adults-only. Your invitation will state exactly who is invited, and we kindly ask that only the named guests attend.
What is the RSVP deadline?
Please RSVP by September 1st.
Can I change my RSVP?
Yes - just reach out to us directly. If you know Hung, text (916) 842-0079. If you know Vivi, text (408) 466-5219.
Ceremony
Is it an unplugged ceremony?
Yes! We kindly ask that you put phones and cameras away during the ceremony and simply be present with us. Our photographer will capture everything - we promise you won't miss a shot.
Registry
Do you have a registry?
Your presence is truly the greatest gift! We are so excited to celebrate with you. If you would like to contribute to our future home or honeymoon fund, you can find our registry right here on the website under the Registry tab!
